Forums - Gaming - 360 Dpad

i really struggle using the 360 dpad for most games. sf2 hyper on xbla, springs to mind. anyone else feel the same? it tends to be difficult with any 2d game, eg when i try shooting up in contra the character has a tendency to move to left or right with it, contra is hard enough with out this problem. anyone know of a good 3rd party pad with a decent dpad?

yah me .. but only in fighting games.

I remember seeing ways people modded their controllers so the d-pad worked better but it didn't work for me when I tried. Then again maybe I didn't do it right...

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I have a Saturn pad running on my 360. Adapters cost me around 200 dollars but its well worth it...

Buy this. It's better than a D-Pad could ever hope to be, looks quite quirky, cute, bulky and full of cellulite, and just screams "uptight and snobby gamer". You'll be sticking extended Dhalsim arms up asses quicker than you can say "Quaker Oats Oatmeal for Quakers".

I don't know why the picture came out looking like smeared vampire bat guano, but you get the idea. It's only 44.99 so it's cheaper than a 360 remote is and will let you own your friends, pets and babies at all manners of 2Dism.

Just knowing you pulled something off like getting a Saturn pad up and running on a 360 makes you the greatest gamer here. That's coming from my own mouth and fingertips, which are like the mouth of God and the fingertips of E.T. Be proud.

I have a saturn controller..... is it really the best D-pad ever made? or is it just nostalgia?

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

It's up there, but I would say the Neo Geo Pocket Color had the best and the Saturn is second. If you count the Neo Geo's controller as a D-Pad and not a joystick, that would be the best.

Snes has the best D-Pad ever.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

That is almost as funny as your quote about time. The SNES has the same D-Pad as the NES, Gamecube, Virtual Boy, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Nintendo 64, Gameboy Advance, DS, and Wii. Nintendo had so much stock left over from the NES era they just kept recoloring the same D-Pads for new controllers. I don't expect them to run out for another two console lifecycles.
