I hope you meant first week sales. Hint: The last final fantasy sold 5 million. The highest a final fantasy game sold was almost 10mil.

Don't want to dissapoint you, but MGS4 is currently around 2 million sold. You're on a sales site, might as well use the data.
I think you're overestimating the size of FF in Others.
final fantasy 13 will be one of the best games this generation, and will sell very very well.
i predict a giant opening week for this offering on a nex-gen machine.
3-4 million opening week worldwide with ltd sales of 10 million. i think thats quite possible. the ps3 install base will be very good indeed after 2008
First week of 3-4 million is GTA-level, which in all honesty FF cannot hope to achieve.

FFVII appeared back in 1995. There is a thing called market growth and I believe FF XIII could sell over 10 million copies. It is the PS3 game people are waiting for and will sell a lot of games and move a load of PS3 consoles. the PS3 price I believe could be reduced in America with the launch of FF XIII in America. that would significantly increase PS3 console sales.

Yeah, but that only works when its on the console that the market is growing on. The ps3 isn't that console. 7 million is the best it will probably do. That is being optimistic.
First week sales will reach 4 million WW. LTD 8-10 million.

As it looks right now MGS4 will sell a pretty significant 300.000 units less in Japan than MGS3. Not saying the attch rate and sales aren't impressive, they are, but so far all PS3 titles released have (understandibly) performed a lot worse than the PS2 games.
At most there will be 3 million PS3 owners in Japan when FF13 releases and you expect 2.2 million copies sold, not just lifetime, but WEEK ONE?!?! Sorry, but you are delusional.
As for the first CG-like RPG game: the step won't be as big as from VI to VII and it's an understatement to say that cinematic gaming isn't really a success in Japan.
Don't know about US or EU. For Japan, 1.6 million should be very possible the first week. This game will have extremely high attach rates like MGS4. This generation in Japan, the PS3 is the Final Fantasy XIII machine - kind of like the original Xbox being the Halo machine in America.
