Yeah right. It doesn't have a chance at 3-4 million first week either. Sorry, but it's not gonna pull PS1/2 numbers. This is the PS3 we're talking about. Not exactly a gaming phenomenom like the PS1/2.

LoLz, looks like from MGS4 sales in Japan you haven`t learned anything. =)))

Anyway, first week sales:

2.2 million Japan.
1.2 million USA.
1.1 million Others.

Don`t forget, this is FIRST CG-LIKE RPG game. =) Just like Naruto Storm is FIRST anime-like fighting game, which don`t differs from previous installations by gameplay, BUT have amazing graphics, which will attract MANY people. =)

As it looks right now MGS4 will sell a pretty significant 300.000 units less in Japan than MGS3. Not saying the attch rate and sales aren't impressive, they are, but so far all PS3 titles released have (understandibly) performed a lot worse than the PS2 games.

At most there will be 3 million PS3 owners in Japan when FF13 releases and you expect 2.2 million copies sold, not just lifetime, but WEEK ONE?!?! Sorry, but you are delusional.

As for the first CG-like RPG game: the step won't be as big as from VI to VII and it's an understatement to say that cinematic gaming isn't really a success in Japan.
