Also I'm not sure Canada counts, 360 is less popular. Also, Elites are less in stock stock than Wii's, according to itrackr.com. So I guess I could say Elites alone are more popular. The ones sitting on your shelf are most likely core, if not premium. THey are certainly not Elites. 

167K for US + Canada. 360 is really in awful, awful shape. They need a price cut right away.

But with the recent Elite release, they will actually get bad press with an immediate price cut. Can't release a higher-priced SKU and then cut its price 2 months later. That's just bad PR.

I think they probably prepared to cut the price and release the Elite at the same time, but a combination of PS3 bombing and having to cut waaay back on 360 production due to Holiday overshipping, persuaded them to hold off on the price cut...

But they need a price cut before Halo. A poor Halo launch (by which I mean an amazing launch compared to anything but Halo 2) soon after Wii passes 360 in WW install base would be detrimental to the console.

the problem with the NPD's numbers are that they dont include Wal*Mart because Wal*Mart doesnt release their sales information. If they included Wal*Mart the numbers would be higher all around. They also dont count mom and pop stores due to the fact theres probably to many of them and they dont release information on sales either.

If 360 is in "really, really awful shape", than what is PS3 since 360 outsold it 2-1?

360 is in great shape. Really the best shape of anybody this gen. The only real competition to 360 is PS3. Wii is totally irrelevant to sales of those consoles.

So 360 has the games, the power, the price, the ability to drop price easily and on top of that outsold it's competition 2-1. People hate MS so they're going to try to paint a gloomy picture but it's actually no worry at all. It's not like anybody's going anywhere for about 7 years in this generation (this generation will be longer). 

There's only one question left, which is if 360 will eventually overtake the Wii or not (and if it matters). That's it. Only question left. 360 has all the software support, and WILL be a thriving profitable business for MS for the next 5-7 years, no matter if Wii sells ten billion.

 Wait a minute, so now ioi's numbers that have 360 much higher are totally bunk, and only NPD is super accurate? Even when in the past, people have repeatedly argued and made dozens of post that in fact ioi has every right to be as accurate as NPD and that NPD should not be taken as official since they are all estimations?

Interesting. What a sudden change of opinions. Yesterday ioi was just as accurate as NPD. Today, only NPD is accurate. How convenient. 

They aren't totally debunk.  No one is perfect, VGchartz and ioi do their best to gather information, but no one is perfect, including NPD.  I just pointed out that they are likely relatively accurate.  If you want, say that the actual numbers are probably somewhere in between the 2.  In truth, NPD does tend to underestimate by about 10% on purpose.

i can answer that because the 360 has been out for a year and a half... its sales numbers are supposed to be booming right now.... if anything its supposed to be selling closer to 300k a month.. but those numbers keep falling down.....

and besides if you're not worried about the shape the 360 is in why Post this stupid thread... now everyone is questioning whether or not walmart is included in the numbers blah blah blah.. just accept the numbers and get over it... npd and vgcharts gather and adjust their info the same as every month... so why is now any different?? THINK ABOUT IT...
