Forums - Nintendo - First Soul Calibur Legends screensm from Famitsu scan

Looks like naznatips is right. It's posted in the wiki for the 360, too. Interesting.

Anyway, back on topic, Soul Calibur legends looks pretty decent from the scans. I hope it's fun. Maybe some two player co-op? That would be sweet.

Those two screens are just for comparison and discussing SC II from what I understand. It's for graphical comparison.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

What ??? only 7 GB for the Box ??? thats hard to belive, how many disks is Oblivion on ??? and where are the Xbox fanboys when you need them ??? I know you read the Nintendo forum in case we secretly troll you, so speak up.

Oblivion reportedly just was 4-5GB, so the single disc wasn't a problem. The thing is that compression tech is much better on the 7th gen than past gens, so a lot more data can fit into one dics than it seems, unless FMVs are used.

Yeah I believe this is in fact the case. The compression technology has gotten so much better that games like Oblivion can exist without worrying about disc size. Still, think about the implications this has for the Wii... without the HD graphics, the Wii could support games 5X the size of the 360 (assuming the same use of compression technology) and the same size or maybe even LARGER than some PS3 games.

Larger game than an equivalent game on a blu-ray? That depends on whether the game is 720p or 1080p, and whether the Wii can encode MPEG-4, or a similar codec. I'll have to look that up.

Right, obviously the chances of it being larger only exist when the PS3 decides to push 1080p graphics, taking up their blu-ray storage space advantage.  I'm certainly not saying every Wii game will be larger than every PS3 game in content, but there is the potential for this to happen occaissionally.

I agree ssj12, the lighting isn't right for it, but also remember that these are pre-alpha screenshots.  Graphics can change quite a bit.  Still, looking good for very early screens.  I hope the game turns out good.

 Also, no shadows at all.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

The lighting systems is really early. Very apparent by the fact that there aren't bad shadows....there aren't square shadows, there aren't even any of those cheap circle shadow beneath the characters, there are NO shadows at all. Thats a dead give away that the game is in early stages.

Two of the shots have shadows...
