Oblivion reportedly just was 4-5GB, so the single disc wasn't a problem. The thing is that compression tech is much better on the 7th gen than past gens, so a lot more data can fit into one dics than it seems, unless FMVs are used.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
