Every year the holiday sales boost will go up because the world is advancing in tech so quickly. This prediction will be on target (give or take a half million).

Does the Wii need any games to outsell the PS3 or 360 this holiday season? If you're gonna be preying for anything, start with HD console gaming.

I really hope theres a major AAA title announced by Nintendo for Wii this holiday season because right now nothing is catching my eye saying "Must Buy!" I already got Smash and Mario Kart, and my sis got Wii Fit which i use a decent amount as well (cool concept but a little shallow... needs more games/variations of exercies).

Animal Crossing i think will happen but its not my thing... a Kirby/Wario game would be ok but again meh...

Kid Icarus, if announced, i don't see coming out this year because isn't Factor 5 working on it, and didn't they leave Nintendo for awhile to work with Sony? So if thats the case i can't see that game being done for the holidays.

Oh, speaking of developers working on Nintendo franchises... WTF is going on with Retro these days?!? Its been a year since Prime came out... WTF have they been doing?

They are developing two seperate titles. Nobody knows what they are though. I am hoping one is a donkey kong platformer.

This Christmas will be bigger than last years'!

Hmm, I think it's fairly certain that the Wii will sell as many units as Nintendo can ship this holiday season.

After what they did to counter the GTAIV release, I believe the Wii supply could easily go up, as in, they are stocking up for holliday.

Also, even if they DIDN'T announce titles (which won't happen) Nintendo would pretty much still be on top compared to the PS3 and 360 through the Hollidays.

It all really comes down to how many Wiis Nintendo stocks up. Last Holliday they were sold out and look how many they sold?

The only real question for this holiday season Wii-wise, is how many units will have they have on the shelves/stockpiled.

The stock issue REALLY bit them hard last year, and they will try hard to make it much less of an issue this year.

I'll be pretty amazed if there are ANY Wii units remaining on the shelves at Dec 31st '08.

(new software has nothing to do with it - even if Ninty release NOTHING new it will still sell out, and easily so)

I think people should wait for E3 to make predictions. The whole situation could change very quickly in just a few months. As of now 7,000,000 makes sense, but a big enough announcement from either Microsoft or Sony could completely change the landscape this holiday season.

It seems like it could reach those numbers, should supply be up with demand. Doubt it will happen, though.

I think it could sell about 10 million if they kept up with demand. But I'm expecting wii sales in November-december will be around 6-7 million.

I don't understand why Nintendo isn't putting all their effort into making Wiis, as they are almost all guaranteed to be sold. It's almost as if they're dening themselves the sales.
