So Microsoft is reportedly buying timed exclusivity in a game that is being criticised for being racist (I don't agree with that, but whatever)

A white man shooting poor black people with the Microsoft logo at the end of every commercial will go down well in America. Lawsuits waiting to happen.

RE 4 I felt was really overrated for no reason.....being a Ninty fanboy back then I still wasn't excited for RE4

RE5 has not interested me a single bit so far

Really? I would have thought that the usual PS3 fan logic of "stop whining and buy another console" would apply. Frankly, I'm flabbergasted.

People are blowing this way out of proportion. For one thing, as this thread is a few hours old, it would be on REAL gaming sites by now if it was credible. He says 'From what I have been told', but doesn't disclose the source, and, to cover his own hide, he calls it a rumour. That way, if he's wrong, it was 'just a rumour', and if he's right he can say "TOLD YA SO!"

As to my thoughts on the rumour itself, I don't know... there's never been an RE game on Xbox, but since DMC still sold well on 360 (yes, I'm aware not as well as the PS3 version), if they COULD buy timed exclusivity, it would be a boon for the series on their platform.

RE5 is much more anticipated on the PS3 in Japan than the 360 as well, why would Capcom want to lose early sales like that?

I love my 360, but MS seems way too desperate with the whole "Buy this, buy that" approach right now.

Maybe instead of buying everything they should try to maybe... I don't know... make their own? What do they have? 2 1st party studios?

Japan is the main reason Capcom wouldn't do something like this this. Having RE5 being a timed exclusive is dumb. How man RE games have been on MS "consoles" before?

Maybe not for console sales but for software sales usually.  Unless one user base is just stupidly larger then one over the other (see RE4 for GC and PS2) then the release that comes later usually suffers poorer sales.

Seriously, how can MS be making money if they keep buying off all these timed exclusive / full exclusive deals? :-/

I really want to know how they manage to make a profit (have they?)

I know Sony is selling at a loss (or was), so I can understand them staying out of buying things more...

After beating the game you may change the villigers to Sony employes and turn yourself into a Mircosoft employe.....That would end really bad...

 Lol... why'd I need to buy another console for a timed exclusive?

I'm not like the wii fans whinning about HD games not comming to my console.

RE5 will be on ps360 no need to buy a 360 but if I owned a Wii only your point may have been valid.
