Sony ,listen ,this is easy.You are catching up with the 360 but the Wii is putting considerable distance between itself and the PS3.You want to catch up much faster to the 360 (and that way make inviable even for MS money to buy all those timed exclusives) and reduce the gap as much as you can with the Wii.THe 360 has already dropped its price in Europe and will do the same for US later this year.JUST drop the price of the 40Gb to 299 and make the 80GB with MGS4 399 for Europe (and Japan for adecuate price) and you will absolutely OWN!

 

Well PS3 already have bigger install base then Xbox360 in EU and Japan so the only place left is USA. I don't blame them if they give USA more atention and better deals.

NA console sales for "the console of choice" will be huge again, and along with many avalanche-laden titles expect the sales to only increase. and if possible a good price cut can be seen later this year, it would seem "the console of choice" would simply shoot off into orbit.

hmm i expect sales to drop to around 70 - 80k next week and stay around their for a few week before settling around 55k.

sony should put back the 80gig model in the market. having BC can go a long long way. though i think that they pulled it out the market to try and lower costs first since they're probably hurting more with that model than with the 40gig.
