Guys Pachter used the Vgchartz Americas numbers * (.9) that I provided him as an estimate for the USA, since the 'Americas' is bigger than just the USA.
So the numbers are less than what is posted in my article.

It's an excuse because ivo (and other people from Europe) have a way better view of how things in Europe are being done. And based on our experiences and our knowledge of our own market, we can say that the PS3 hás had a boost in hardware because of GTA IV. That's why we find it so weird when it is said that it is not so.
Probably because practically all things are extrapolated as "US is so, therefore world is so" (in most cases).
GTA4 was supposed to have a bigger effect than this.......

I'm not so sure about this. Some of the people here have been wildly inaccurate about sales. I won't mention names, but most people will know who I'm talking about.
Also, these analysts are talking about the NPD report which is obvious if you read the story.

Pachter is still a lot higher than VGC on all (except PSP) hardware though... I mean his estimates are USA only, and VGC numbers in the article have already been adjusted to USA only... so they match in regional terms, but Wii/DS are 100k higher, and PS3/360 are 50k higher.
Poor GTA4....
