Ironically the consoles themselves have become more available.

I don't get this...

T2 was able to ship 11 million copies of GTAIV across 2 consoles... I repeat. 11 million.

Why is Mario Kart short? Please someone explain it to me.

I didn't know T2 was also shipping GTAIV with a wheel. *sigh*

Peripherals do have an affect on ease of manufacturability. Wii Fit is the extreme case.

Oh of course, the plastic wheel case was the reason. How silly of me to even ask.

It's the one glaringly obvious difference. Sometimes the answers to questions are the most simple ones, but I suppose conspiracy theories make more sense to you, right?

Well, there's no conspiracy theory, It's not like a game Nintendo makes without any add-on that was ever in "shortage". I mean. It's not like SSBB was ever short anywhere... like Japan during launch week?

You're not making much sense to me. How is SSBB at all comparable to MK Wii? MK Wii is sold only with a bundled peripheral, SSBB is not.

And consider that the wheel that it's bundled with is also manufactured to be sold without the game, so not all the supply goes towards shipping the game. Nintendo has had shortages of peripherals at several points along the Wii's life.

I was more of trying to imply that SSBB also experienced shortage during lanch in Japan. but hey, I'm sure there's no theory behind it whatsoever

well glad I have MKwii before it sold out everywhere

There may be some precedent to kingofwale's comments. See my earlier comment regarding the microchip shortage of 1989. However, there's no point in citing a temporary shortage as a case of a purposeful shortage. The Japanese launch shortages of Brawl were entirely understandable in the context of the expectations for the game's initial sales being less than the actual demand. This happens all the time in the industry, as does over-estimation of demand. It usually gets corrected within a month, which is what happened with Brawl in Japan.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

That's kinda surprising. Demand is still high even though it was released a month ago, eh? Looks like MK: Wii might have great legs after all.

100,000 units in every region, in week 5 isn't great legs?

I just don't understand your "after all" comment. Did you somehow think it wouldn't have great legs according to how you understood the current numbers, or what?

I didn't think it would still be selling as great as it is right now. I thought it might drop off the 100k mark already (in the U.S.) it still can, but if it is because of low supplies, well than the demand is still pretty high meaning it will still have weeks over 100k (besides holiday season)

its also sold out around my area

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

I tried to get it (or rather, I took my little brother to get it, I'm broke :P ), but...nobody had it. :(

^ninty really needs to fix these supply problems

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

Its sold out where I live, my cousin was trying to find this game for a while now.

I never had these problems on the GameCube. If I wanted a game, I got it. Now if I want a game, I might get it...might not. :(

Thought to be fair, I don't usually buy games.  I just play games that other people buy.
