I'm a muslim and I believe in God. God sustains the earth but he dosen't really interfer (well he used to then he stop). He provided everything you needed and its up to you to choose to follow god's path or another.

BTW: Joyous Ramadan to all those observing.

Alaikum salaam. Ramadan Mubarak. I thought I was the only one here, guess not. Peace, out.

So to be saved, according to religion, I'd have to give up what I like? Is that your God? Why would he impose to us living a life like that? He's demanding us to sacrifice pleasure and freedom to save a our souls? That's not what I call rightousness, goodness and mercy.

Christians justify it by saying that this life is nothing but a test that we have to go through with bodies hard wired for sin. If we can overpower our urge to sin, then we go to heaven. Sounds like kind of a dick thing to do.

I'm not quite sure i understand you. Assuming God is God, then anything that is of him would have to be righteous and good, simply because he is God. Now if what you like is against God than what you like is to rebel and fight against God's overall sovereignty, thrusting thorns into the one that not only gave you and all of the Universe life, but created Life itself and is purely Eternal.

Is it not pleasurable to be righteous? What kind of pleasure do you plan on doing that you could not do according to God? What kind of freedom do you want that you could not have if you were to be with God? I'm sure if you killed somebody and then told the Government that it is your right to kill and that it is the kind of Freedom and Pleasure that you deserve than they'd throw you in jail. But with God as this "Government" he would give you an indefinate number of chances to redeem yourself and know the wrongs that you did and ask for forgiveness. He would always forgive you, but what if you did not want to be forgiven? Then he won't throw you in Jail, but in a place of pure anarchy, a seperation of the Government or Hell, a seperation of God.

That is what I call Justice and Righteousness. The fact that he not only will forgive you for any treachery or traitorous acts, as well as treason and rebellion, wicked murdering and destruction, but he would give his own life just to give you an easier way to be forgiven makes him all the more Merciful.

No i do not understand you at all. You don't have to be a Christian if you don't want to. But don't say things that aren't relevant or true to the Christian Faith and attempt to attack the concept of God with it.

God exists bc we have video games.

"Like you know"

Ned Flanders----Well....of course.....HE could...but...then again....

"God" is a fictional being created by humans to help them control their own actions. One who "believes" feels rewarded by doing something they feel is in favor of their "God." It's mental self gratification. Kind of like masturbation for your brain. "God" also helps people explain that which they cannot understand. "God" is their broom and whatever they don't understand is easily swept under the door and forgotten about by simply "using God." Believing that you will reach a higher plane of existence after death is also a form of mental self control. Some people can control their actions without the need of a higher being to lean on. "God" explains things for those that don't (or don't want to) understand.

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

This question actually makes perfect sense.  While many people of faith just toss it aside as a pardox, if you really take it seriously, the answer has to be yes.

For a G-d to be omnipotent, he has to be able to do anything, including limiting himself PERMANENTLY.  Maybe this is what happened?

Anyway, in Kabbalah their concept of G-d is the Ayn Sof, which is a giant limitless light force that is so unlimited that it has no boundaries and there is nothing outside of it and nothing within it.  Everything is Ayn Sof.  So to actually create earth and humanity and such, it needs to uncreate a hole within itself, to have room to put all this new stuff.  The Ayn Sof created all 10 Sephiroth to be filters to limit its own power and existence, creating a giant hole.  In this hole is our universe.

At least, that's their take on it.

Me?  I BELIEVE IN NOTHING LEBOWSKY.
