Forums - Gaming - What is with the boycotting?

It's sheep. Not lambs. But on topic this so called boycott is ridiculous. Support a quality game if Ubisoft makes one so they make more. That's how you get your message across. If you don't buy anything from them, regardless of it's quality, then they leave the Wii all together. I personallly will buy Red Steel 2 if it's any good.

I'm not doing a boycott anymore, but the point of it was not to buy any ubisoft game from any system, not just the Wii. That may seem extreme, but that's the point of a boycott.

I understand that, but like I was implying, the Wii needs as much decent 3rd party support as possible. If Ubisoft have a few diamonds in the crap then they should be bought in order to tell them that those are the type of games that they should be releasing. I mean I don't think anyone here is going to buy one of those Petz games.

WOW I could draw straigher lines than that , but regardless it's not like Nintendo are putting out these games there are plenty other developers you can get your Wii games from.

what I think is hilarious.... is that people complain about the graphics for that game.... when I'd be offended by the game itself... a dog training game.... ????? really ????

I got it mario is a plumbing simulation..... mario kart a drunk driving sim etc... come on people.... you do reallise they are thinking you are all morons here ???? Wii fit is a joke.... you want to do sports... get your ass off the house and do actual sport.... fitness would be a sport it be on the OG..... dog simulation on DS

they are completely underminding human inteligence... and the worst is people are loving it..... nintendo didn't find a great way to atract casual gamers with the Wiimote... they just figured out that for lambs you have to do games like fox is reporting news....

sorry guys it's my opinion

Those are some bitter tears.

The thing is that if it turns out there are no diamonds to buy (which is what started the uproar even before that forum response), the point would be to not even buy the diamonds on the HD systems (and some 360 and PS3 owners said they would actually do it). Nothing, until ubisoft promises the Wii those diamonds, so we have the chance to buy them.

The point would be because if a developer thinks they can piss on one demographic, they could piss on more, and a boycott would be one way of letting them no we wouldn't take it.

As much as I agree with what you are saying, Ubisoft doesn't have to give the Wii anything that they don't want to. If they do exactly what people here are fearing, then it will catch up to them. When you run your business like crap that's what happens. Honestly, think about it. The way of thinking is I'm going to put out crappy games for leader so I can fund making my good games for the competitors that are trailing. Does this sound like the ideal way to make money? Of course not. They eventually will come to grips with the fact that they have to make quality games for the Wii or get into a new business because Petz isn't going to fund anything. Have you seen the sales? What I'm saying is that people have already not bought there crap and they will get the message.

The thing was I was just pointing out any boycott would not just focus on the Wii. It would be any game ubisoft made. Not saying it would be done, just that it wouldn't be in the narrow range a lot of you seem to think it would be.

What I'm saying is that the huge sales that they have had with certain games such as Assassin's Creed would have been even more if it was a Wii game. They have to see the sales of the Resident Evil games. If they don't then they're idiots and as a company will suffer. They have to see that their best sales on the Wii have been for Red Steel and the RRR games. It isn't a coincidence that these were by far the best games that they released on the Wii. If they put out one of their BIG games on the Wii as an exclusive imagine how it would sell. They have to know this and if they haven't figured it out they will go from a leading developer to a struggling one. As much as people like to talk badly about EA look at all of the support that they are giving the Wii. It's because they know how to make money. Look at there track record. Ubisoft hasn't been around as long as EA and now we'll see if they are going to be a big time developer or in trouble. I'd like to think that they will figure it out very soon. If they don't then they will be struggling and not one of the leaders like they are now very soon.

Ubisoft told Wii gamers to fuck themselves, so we are telling ubisoft they should fuck themselves back. I was never going to buy games like Imagine: Babiez but if I am vocal about then there is a bigger chance they will actually make something good on the wii. If they see how many people are boycotting them, then maybe they will realize all of those people are potential core customers on the wii.

rather than just ignoring the wii 'hardcore' userbase.. they insulted it by claiming to know what they wanted and that this was it..

I can tell you right now that if they keep making crap like this I know they will go out of biz really quick. Second the stupid guy over there needs to get a brain check bc all of the hardcore games that came out for the Wii sold over 1m

Second if your going to boycot them alltogether that is exsteam, but that is what I am doing from now on. The real thing we should all do (wii owners I mean) is to just not buy any more of there Wii games and only buy the hardocre ones. SO we can show them how stupid they are about Wii owners and if you put time and money into a games, then people will see that and buy the game!!!
