Sadly Blue3 is not one who can be reasoned with, he appears to be the apex troll of this forum.

+2 and now my only post on this thread has been made, as I consider the content of the thread to be an incredibly comon and uninteresting situation, and the thread itself is heading down a worthless flame war path.

Ahhh, cut Blue3 some slack. Bitter people harm themselves enough as it is.
Blue3, I do think the PS3 is the most powerful console. I believe it is even more tech power per dollar than any other system. So I'd say it is the best deal even, when concernng power.
But, I have to say, I find the $250 for the Wii the best option for me when considering power, games, and enjoyment from the system. Whatever anyone says of how powerful the system is.
I hope that doesn't offend you too much

Well yeah, we have to put up with enough shitty Sony troll threads as it is we don't need to be making more on our own to feed the fire. You kind of lose an excuse to be upset with Sony fans when you're provoking them. My only issue is when Sony fans force their silly beliefs on others, when we start helping in creating that problem, we're just as bad. This thread, while interesting, does little more than to increase the already heightend conflict between Sony fans and other gamers.

actually, bluetooth is near enough to 10 years old (specifications formally ratified in 1998. SD is also about 8 years old. Bringing in this old technology doesn't really hel your cause. Of course, this doesn't detract from the fact that the claim that the Wii is "10 year old technology" is completely laughable. My cellphone has barely more power than my old Pentium. Does that make it 20 year old technology? Of course not. The idea that technology only exists to push polygons is ludicrous Of course, it won't stop him spouting his nonsense, but just give up on trying to convince him.

Not sure what revision of bluetooth is in the wii, but I know 1.0 was fairly lame and hardly usable and the wii is obviously not using that revision... It's at least 2.0, as the wii supports EDR which means the bluetooth technology is at most from November 2004, if not newer.
SD cards have also had specification revisions, and they are relatively minor changes, but also includes things such as increasing the maximum transfer rate. I doubt the wii is at 1.0, but doing a quick check I am not able to find any info on what transfer speeds it supports, etc...

It is new technology that allows the data to be stored at denser levels, etc.. Also newer technology allows for specification changes just as doubling the data rate, etc... The differences between Bluetooth 1.0 and 2.0 are not minor.
By your logic of "new technology", you are saying the PS3 isn't "new technology" either, because it's all just the same game console technology? just aren't measuring the triangles per second at the same rate anymore, etc... Blue ray is just a minor revision to dvd aferall.

Even with that it is still not worth $600. |
how can the ps3 not be worth $600 when it costs sony more than that to make ps3

well, of course! "New Technology" is a very large and blurry line, definitely not something we need a blue laser diode to see ;) It's all very subjective, so it's hard to pinpoint where something goes from being a "revision" to "new technology". Which is why it's stupid to be having this argument in the first place. =)
