actually, bluetooth is near enough to 10 years old (specifications formally ratified in 1998. SD is also about 8 years old. Bringing in this old technology doesn't really hel your cause. Of course, this doesn't detract from the fact that the claim that the Wii is "10 year old technology" is completely laughable. My cellphone has barely more power than my old Pentium. Does that make it 20 year old technology? Of course not. The idea that technology only exists to push polygons is ludicrous Of course, it won't stop him spouting his nonsense, but just give up on trying to convince him.

Not sure what revision of bluetooth is in the wii, but I know 1.0 was fairly lame and hardly usable and the wii is obviously not using that revision... It's at least 2.0, as the wii supports EDR which means the bluetooth technology is at most from November 2004, if not newer.
SD cards have also had specification revisions, and they are relatively minor changes, but also includes things such as increasing the maximum transfer rate. I doubt the wii is at 1.0, but doing a quick check I am not able to find any info on what transfer speeds it supports, etc...
