I don't get it. I've got the original xbox 360 and its never red ringed on me and I play it a lot. Just lucky I guess.

Maybe you just play in a very cool space, so the 360 has more opportunity to cool off... just guessing.

Or maybe some are just lucky that the inter cooler is working just as it suppose to.

So are these ones happening on the new chipsets? Because I heard reports that the new ones were much less likely to RROD. How do you get your saves off? does M$ copy stuff across, or do you just need to keep it backed up?

Anyway, the 3 year warantee does give me peace of mind, because if it does not break after 3 years, I doubt it ever will, and if it does, you will get a better chipset afterwards

- Detachable harddrive. If your 360 gets rrod, MS tells you to keep the hdd and only send in the unit.

- Pretty soon people that have older, pre-hdmi 360s die on them will be getting Opus motherboard 360s in return. Basically a Falcon generaton chipset (65nm CPU and 175w) in a pre-hdmi case.

Seriously, how do you guys do it? Is there a secret or something? Not trying to sound mean or anything... o_o

do wat?

Get a RROD. I've got my 360 for a year now and nothing bad happened to it (yet).

Just wondering, do you guys STOP playing sometimes, like every hour or something (and take that recommended 15 min break each gaming session)? o_o

It's funny, there was a post in the big "360 broked" thread at SA a couple of days ago saying that a guy with a launch unit finally had his first failure.  I thought he was the last one left ;)

The jury is still out.  The flaws that cause RRODs still exist, but there is a little bit less heat in the system with the Falcon chipsets, and heat is believed to be the catalyst.  You /should/ have a reduced chance to get an RROD, but the Falcon hasn't even been out a year yet and a lot of people with Falcon units have reported RRODs in the "360 is broked" thread, and I've had some friends with falcons who have had to send them in for repairs.

get the falcon version of 360, or sell it and buy a ps3. u choose it
