Rest assured, Wii-Fit is severely supply constrained in Others and America and it shall continue to be for a long time to come.

It's because he's a big Sony fanboy and he is trying to downplay just how great Wii Fit will sell.(once Nintendo gets more stock!)

Oh and I've seen several stores out of stock of Wii Fit here where I live in Japan, too.

Maybe he thinks we'll forget all about this thread by next week. I mean look at Rock_on making his "PS3 will sell 9 million in the next 6 months" comments. Will we still remember those crazy comments in 6 months?

Super Mario Galaxy

Total: 6.65m at 30 weeks in Japan,  28 Weeks in America, 28 Weeks in Other. Still climbing.

First week sales:

Japan: 260,993 America: 635,162 Other: 193,003 Total: 1,089,158

Wii Fit

Total: 4,37m at 26 Weeks in Japan, 1 Week in America, 5 Weeks in Other.

First Week sales:

Japan: 252,510 America: 819,163 Other: 644,865 Total: 1,716,538

 

The opening week does not make Wii Fit big. It is all about week after week, just look at Wii Fit history in Japan.

Wii Fit does not need a big spike in sales, only good steady sales from week to week. Just look at how it has sold 2m in Japan, even opening lower then Super Mario Galaxy,  but the sales never stops.

 Whatever happens, Wii Fit should break 7m and maybe go higher, with American sales at 3m+.
