I was trying to figure why the game stores like Game Stop seemed to be selling out a lot slower than Walmart and Target. I think I know the answer. Probably the majority of people getting this are not gamers at all. They would not be used to shopping in a game store if they even know where one is. If they saw this on the TV news they would head for Target or especially Walmart after all the promtion it did. |
Gamestop is known for not selling you a game on release day unless you pre-ordered it. They normally only get enough initial stock to cover pre-orders and very few extra copies for release date.
People know that the big box retailers are better for people who just want to walk into a store and buy a game on release day.

Wii fit is a pack in game
With the Wii Board.
Highest Selling Pack-in game not guaranteed... Wii Sports will beat it
I work at a Zellers in Ottawa, Canada. We got only 8 in because the shipments got separated on two trucks. Shoulda been 16. Anyways, we sold the 8 within 10 minutes and had about 30 calls throughout the day. I called around for customers and every Zellers in Ottawa is sold out, every Walmart was sold out, every Future Shop was sold out, and EB Games and Gamestop only had enough to cover their pre-orders.

That's not a pack-in. It doesn't come with the system.
Wii Play, Guitar Hero, Eye of Judgment, Mario Kart Wii, Link's Crossbow Training, Rock Band, Wii Fit, none of them are pack-ins. The only serious pack-in this generation is Wii Sports, and even then, not in Japan. Every other pack-in is very shortlived, like Halo 3, MGS4, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Motorstorm, etc.

i blame......................fkusumot!
Wow the PS2 is no competition for the success of Wii-Fit, with the success of the Wii seems PS2 is loosing market share to the Wii rapidly.
DING DONG
UPS
My Wii Fit has been delivered! The VGChartz/Amazon store worked!
I was supposed to get it on Friday, but they fucked up my order somehow, so they apologized by canceling my order and giving me a new one with 1 day shipping, shipped out from Texas yesterday to Illinois, got to Oakland at 4 am, and to my house about 2 minutes ago.
Now I gotta go get some food, come back, AND GET PUMPED UP.
Here in Montreal, there are no Wii Fit in sight. The guy at Best Buy told me they were gone in 25 minutes and there's no way to find any of it anywhere in the city just like the console itself since launch. Nintendo has always done pretty well here even in the Gamecube days.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Godot is waiting for resupply. How poetic.
