So Okami sold less than 1000 units in one month?
Wow, that's bad... Here's hoping with Japan and Europe, it manages to sell at least 10,000 units, which should be around break even for Capcom.

I think many "hardcore gamers" who would actually buy okami would prefer the wii as a second console, not first. And since its so hard to find, those hardcore gamers probably have not yet purchased a wii yet because they don't find it necessary to put in the effort to find one. They most likely have a 360 or ps3 to hold them over.
I think non casual oriented games aren't going to do so hot until the wii is more available. Hopefully Nintendo is giving it their all to boost production.

no, the guy didn't say it sold 100k less than VGC, the 100k in that post was the OPs addition to state how many copies VGC has tracked.. the only thing the guy says is that vgc is a fair bit higher than actual sales.. but that could mean 10k or 50k, who knows
I knew that Okami Wii wasn't selling that well... But I didn't cry "over-tracked" cause I'd like to believe the numbers.
I'm gonna say that Okami Wii is moreso 30-50k.
They should have released in June, where there are hardly any Wii games releasing, and none planned by Nintendo.
Same thing happened last summer, with Resident Evil 4. It was the only 'big' release in June, and it had a pretty solid debut (of course, the previous success and $30 price helped).
Releasing in April, with Mario Kart and GTA IV looming soon...
Note: I'm not saying it would have done loads better, but certainly better.
I went with The World Ends With You instead of Okami, since at least the former is an interesting New IP from Square-Enix whose sales could influence a sequel. The same can't be said about Okami-Clover Studios.

Most of the 'hardcore' gamers bought this game when it came out ages ago on PS2 and aren't going to buy it again--especially at $40 (this shouldn't have been a penny over $30 especially since it's actually less 'enhanced' than RE4).
No I'm a "hardcore" gamer and I said THIS HAS TO BE PORTED TO THE WII. and so I waited for it to come to the wii. and it did. and I bought it. I'm sure I wasn't alone.
