Why do people keep saying the PS3 needs RPGs? Look at the top 50 of Japan software; hardly any of the games are RPGs.
Disgaea and Valkyrie Profile have bombed relatively and done absolutely nothing for hardware sales, why would random crap like White Knight Story be any different?
What's the point of Golden Week? It really doesn't boost sales much at all. Same as last year, I didn't see any significant change. Hell, xmas time in Japan is larger.
PSP still doing well

DS.- Good
PSP.-Great
PS3.- Very Bad
Xbox360.- Dead
And in software only Nintendo and monster hunter sell in Japan.
Didn't you guys hear? Gold went down on the stock market, so naturally anything gold related would suffer.

PSP is just picked up amazingly recently. Is this from Monster Hunter or is it just a general shift, anyone know anything on this?

I'm talking more about Japanese focused games.
The 360 gets and will still get Japanese games aimed at a western market like DMC, of course.
However, will the PS3 have exclusivity to the next Disgaea entry? Who knows.

Because we bought PS2's for RPG's, and wish the PS3 was more like the PS2.

Mario Kart Wii has outsold Mario Kart Double Dash, in 4 short weeks. It is still 300K short of SSBM.
Wii Fit has now sold more than the 2nd best selling and the 3rd best selling game on the Gamecube combined! It is also 50% above nr 1. Link's Crossbow training sells 50% more than prelim sells, it could actually challenge MM in total sales Japan, at 700K.
Wii Fit has now outsold all N64 games and GCN games in Japan, except for MK64
Wii Sports breaks 3M! Something only 6 console games have done before it.
MH2 sells 2M total in Japan! Can it beat Wii Sports? That would make it the bestselling -non DS game in Japan this gen.
