Yet this game was supposed to be PERFECT!!!!

If it's due to a manufacturing flaw in the disks, it has nothing to do with the game.

That's like putting water in the gas tank of a car, and then calling the auto manufacturer crapy designers because there car does not work.

If the reports are right, they had to make 9,000,000 copies. Hard to do that and not screw up at least one manufacturing run.

Well not according to RockStar... but I guess we could take your word over it..

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=134790

They advised PS3 owners with issues to erase their install data and reinstall the game

No mention for the 360 problems, because they're are none other then players having their consoles RRoD. The "My console freezes minutes into the game" is RRoD symptom #1 (the three red lights is #2... eheh)

Umm, question... what would uninstalling and reinstalling do if the code is bad? It would put the exact same flaw in the system. A good reason to do that however, is if the disk read the information wrong the first time, and got it right the second ;)

ya, it would be a minor install glitch with the install. It happens with any piece of software on the market sometimes. You could download AIM 50 times in a row and have 7 install files be bad/not install correctly.

I don't want to be a total ass, but reports are stating its the PS3 thats having issues

http://www.gamezine.co.uk/news/game-types/shooter/ps3-owners-report-freezing-errors-on-gta-iv-$1220708.htm

I just quickly googled GTA and Freezing and those are the two news articles that popped up about the issue. Mind you its 7:50am and maybe the 360 articles will come out at some point later today.

Looking at the xbox.com forums and the few (I only saw two on the first two pages) describe RRoD's about to happen and not random fatal errors.

quit trolling please, both versions are having some minor issues. I was playing online last night for like 7 hours straight and like 2 people compained about a slight lock-up. Remember though, with this generation of consoles, a patch can easily be released to solve the issues.

So he has articles to backup his claims whereas you only have anecdotes but he's the one trolling?

Nice try.

An editor from Kotaku goes undercover (pretends to have a crash to call the service line from Rockstar), and finds out there is an issue, it's on both systems, but on the PS3 it's specific to the 60GB version for some reason, not all of them, just some.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

@WoW

What i find funny though is that a) Both these links are the same article in different sites, and b) in the same article it mentions that the 360 version has problems too. ^^

I like your sense of humor. +1.

I love the word alledgedly in the articles though.  Yep, PS3 problems are widespread but all 360 problems are "alledged."

So far there problems in both versions, but the PS3 leads the way...

You guys need to give it a rest, its only on the PS3. If lies are being told about the other system (360) then the initial problem will take longer to get fixed. GTA 4 should not have been scored a 10 (on both systems). The highest should have been a 9 and I'm not saying that because of the recent problems. Its not perfect.

i have a 60 gig us and i played for like 5 hours straight last nite nuttin happened

"He did ask me to make sure that my harddrive wasn't full and that I had the latest firmware update, but confessed that that really isn't what's causing most of the problem. He also said that the Xbox 360 is having the "exact same problem," which has further stumped their tech folks." -Kotaku

Are you trying to imply that Rockstar is lying about the 360 having the same problem?

The ps3 seems to be having online issues to http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/04/29/gta-iv-online-is-down/
