When you choose to play 2-4 people versus multiplayer there's an option "hidden" in the top right corner when you get to the screen where you choose solo or team races. There you can set the rules and customize GPs. So you have two player GP, you can set the number of races to 32 which essentially is all cup. The best thing is you can play GPs with four players.

Wait... can you actually win trophies in these multiplayer GPs? My only gripe is that I have to play alone to unlock stuff. Playing Mario Kart alone is like... going to a restaurant on Christmas and playing Mario Kart alone. I hate it.

The reason Double Dash is my favorite is the co-op GPs. But if MKWii has multiplayer GPs... shit, it's in my top 3.

No, you can't unlock stuff in multiplayer GPs. You'll have to spend ~10 hours and play alone to unlock all the stuff in GP mode and more hours if you want to get all triple star ratings for bragging rights.

Oh yes, you can, you can that even playing online. Unlocking seems to be done by the times you need for maps the 4 maps of a GP. I often turned it off, and next time i turned it on, i got cars and players, but I only played online in the meanwhile.

I think there are a number of ways different characters/karts/bikes can be unlocked. It will tell you how you unlocked them in the top left of the screen when the new item is shown.

From what I could tell, to unlock most of the characters all you need is a gold in each GP (50cc-150cc, not sure about mirror)

most of the  karts/bikes I unlocked using time trial mode, so perhaps it does simply represent the times you get on the tracks, though I think some need you to specifically beat the Nintendo staff ghost

I'm not sure about beating, but atleast unlocking enough expert ghosts unlocks stuff. Besides, there's delay, that once you have earned the vehicle/character, you get what you unlocked earlier (and the notice) in the next session or next day after earning it, not quite sure which.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

This website has reviews 72 Wii games. Only 3 have scored lower.
Pool Party(1.7), Samurai Warriors: Katana(3.2) and FruFru Park(3.3).

MKWii is their 4th worst Wii game.

4.2 for MK Wii that is really harsh. I would not give it such a bad review score. 6 or 7 would be the lowest score if you were not a fan of MK series.

Looking at this site's history -- its scores are usually very strange when compared to other sites. It gave Shrek the Third at 7.8 for example and Carnival Games an 8.3.

So I wonder if they review late and contrary just for fun.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

LOL, just ridiculous.

-100 for this particular review site IMO.

Its a solid 9 for me (another couple more hours last night), and if these online competitions (and other features) really take off - it could nudge a 9.5.

This game is nowhere near worth a 9.5, but it's not worth a 4 either. His criticisms are totally valid however, but this game deserves between a 7 and an 8 for what it is.

I love it. Nintendo can't win either way. If the game was easier this guy would say that it was geared toward casuals. I just got this game two days ago and yes 150 cc is a pain in the butt. But that is called a CHALLENGE, right? If a game is hardcore on Nintendo people complain now as well as if a game's too casual. Maybe they have to make in the middle games. No. People would say that they're too middle of the road. I can see not liking the game enough to give it a 9 or even an 8 but giving MKWii a 4.2 is downright irresponsible and borderline disgusting. Okay I'm going to calm down now.

let me get this right *takes of glass and pinches the bridge of nose*

you set it on the hardest difficulty....then complain b/c its drastically harder then the easy setting.....

you know there is a reason they call it hard and not easy.......
