It says consoles sold as of 3/31/08

Which is about 500k, right now vgchartz has the PS3 at 406k, we are undertracking.

Hmm. That would mean, according to VGChartz numbers, that there are 100k consoles sitting in retail. Is that a reasonable number for a country the size of Germany?


Im not sure myself, but I would think that 20% of the entire PS3's German shipment would be on shelves.

The problem is that ioi overtracked the PS3 few months ago and he got too conservative. Its always good with official numbers atleast we know now that Sony have shipped 500k+ to Germany.

With over 82 million people it is plausible that 90.000 consoles are on the retailers shelfs.

Leo... GRAPH! The graph prosugno posted shows media control/GfK numbers for the consoles from launch, in months. The graph for PS3 ends at 13 months with 410k consoles.

So in March there were 500.000 Shipped?

That would mean that like 550.000 shipped at the moment?

410k sold according to VGCHARTZ.

I don't know..that are a hell load of PS3's on the shelves.

^Why you added 50k I don't know, they expect to ship 500k more by next March, even dividing 500 by 12 gets less than 50k and that doesn't factor in huge Christmas shipments.


Try adding 30k.

Still, that doesn't take away the blindingly obvous GfK graph of sales that agrees with us.
