I'd honestly say Pikmin 1 or Pikmin 3 is more accessible. Pikmin 4 can get extremely challenging, and did take me around 55hr to 100% complete, whereas I only ever need around 5-10hr to do a full Pikmin 1 playthrough, and 15-20hr for a Pikmin 3 playthrough. Pikmin 2 is long and challenging— it's tied with Pikmin 4 for my favorite.

The day/fruit limits in 1 and 3 sound a bit intimidating to me as I don't like being under that kind of pressure. IIRC only 4 gives you the ability to 'rewind' a mistake? Also I wouldn't be playing to 100%, just to finish the campaign.

Ahh good point. Yeah Pikmin 4 is definitely a solid entry point in that case. Maybe even Pikmin 2... though, again, that game is brutually unforgiving at times.

Cheers, I'll give it a go at some point. Might not be for a while though due to how insane my backlog has gotten, I think I'm up to around 100 games on my "I'll play it someday" list at this point lmao

Pikmin 1, and it isn't even close. Pikmin 2 was my least favorite, given time didn't really matter, which decimates the entire strategy of resource management. Pikmin 3 is stellar and 4 was good (and it migrated to an adventure game, not strategy). Pikmin 1 is top 10 all time for me. I have beaten it at least 12 times. My wife is really good at it, her record is beating it (on the Gamecube) in 13 days.

I could not stand Pikmin when I tried it. I do not know exactly what it is about it but I do know that I disliked the music of the first game so much I only played it on mute. I have never felt the urge to return to the series, less and less so as time for gaming gets smaller and smaller, while the pile of games I want to play get larger and larger.
