I always hear the expression “It’s on like Donkey Kong!” but… what does that even mean? The assumption I’ve always drawn is “Oh, so that means it’s on!” but why? In what way is Donkey Kong “on”?
I always took it as a fun and silly way of saying "Now its serious" or "Lets do this". Just a mix of fun and when we were kids in the arcade and took the games very seriously.
