Forums - Sony - Prediction - PS6 wont have a single big genn exclusive from sony.

I said this is some of my video's but i'll say it here to.

If the ps6 will realy cost 1000+ i just dont see it selling the way most ps console's have sold, the ps5 will be THE console where most of the userbase will be even when the ps6 console is nearing the end.

therefore i predict that sony wont release a single big AAA game(like gow, horizon etc) that will be exclusive to the ps6.

All of them will be released on both ps5 systems and ps6.

I mean, it depends, PS6 could last for like 10+ years, in which case I'm not entirely sure if they'd bother releasing on PS5 in 2040.

You're unlikely to see any for a long time though, given how long gamers have stuck with last gen and the fact next gen will be even worse due to skyrocketing costs (and budgets + dev times) and the economy in the shitter.

Eh, I mean GoW Ragnarok did way better on PS5 than PS4 when it launched, despite PS5 only having a 22m installbase at the time.

The bigger audience for 1st party exclusives will be on the new system even if it's sales are much less. Cross-gen may last a bit longer but it will definitely get exclusives eventually.

Sony are not going to be releasing 1st party titles on PS5 in 2035.

I mean... you only have to look at the transition from PS4 to PS5 to realise this will obviously be the same scenario from PS5 to PS6.

It won't last the entire life of the PS6 though, unless they shorten the gen to get out PS7 or something.

End of the day, if ppl are still buying PS5's , and still engaging in the ecosystem, then they should be fine.

It'll probably get a few experimental relatively low budget exclusives. But the rest of the library will be crossgen with either PS5 or "PS7".

With the upcoming portable handheld on a ps5 /slightly below they will need to do the ps5 game anyway so it is unlikely that they will create a true ps6 exclusive unless they ditch the portable game

Everyone needs to stop assuming that a 1000$ base model PS6 is guaranteed. I'm pretty sure that Sony has realised that skyrocketing prices has made the high end PS6 model (codename Orion), no longer viable as a mass market product. What they'll do is take the chipset they designed for the handheld, and package it into a small console shell. That package will be Sony's next main console intended to sell to the masses. The Orion model will be renamed into a professional model like PS5 Pro. I think you're prediction is right though and won't even be called a PS6 because of it. We'll just see names like Playstation Portable, Playstation budget and Playstation Pro.

Cross gen for about 3 years is a given but we really can't say we know what the market will look like in 3032, what prices will be like etc. Realistically PS6 will have exclusives eventually, especially if there AI driven experiences that simply can't be had elsewhere.

It already costs north of $1k to make. Also (bolded) they already have this, it’s called a PS5. The handheld is basically a portable PS5 not a PS6 equivalent device.

PS6 won’t be sold as a new generation device so it won’t have exclusive games. It’ll get sold as a premium pro model for those who want the best performance on PS games. Sony tried the overprice system before and it failed, trying it again with a device twice as expensive is pure insanity. But as a niche ultra premium device it could probably get a few million sales in.
