I play more western games by sheer number since that counts the USA and Europe among a few other spots.
And I take it you mean east vs. west in terms of developers, not the publisher. Next Level Games for instance is a western studio.
But most of my favorite games are from the east. Some Mario games, Persona 3-5, Super Smash Bros., Animal Crossing, OOT, and so on.
East wins, even if almost all the Eastern games I play are from Japan alone.

I was thinking of developers rather than publishers, yes.

East wins easily. And by east I mean Japan vs every other country combined. Japan still wins.

Take my top 50 JRPG list for example, pretty obviously 50 - 0 Japan.

Even taking into account my overall top 50. 32 Japanese 1 Korean 17 Western.

My #1 game played however is western. #2 played as well is western. MMO and Moba genre too strong.

Japan is Games. Always.

The best western games don't captivate me the way a mid Eastern game does. I do play lots of western indie games though, but that is just because most of them think they're Japanese.
