I’d say Type-0, that game had me playing through it about six times in a row just to see everything. I loved the story and the ending, and the replayability didn't feel like a chore at all. Got 160 hrs on it
Most underrated: FF5
A fantastic game with cool gameplay, arguably the best non-action battle system in the series, likeable characters, nice music, heaps of content, the best job system, and a lovely sense of adventure and freedom. I loved this game's vibe!
Most over-hated: Type-0 or FF8.
FF8 is the better game but it's less hated from I've seen. I liked Type-0's battle system, and enjoyed the characters for what they were. It was low budget and prototype-ish, but I can't say I disliked it.

Imo? FF16. I own it, I beat it, I loved it... and this is coming from an OG. I don't get the hate.

On Metacritic it has great scores from the critics and audiences.
But quite a few vocal people act like it's mediocre at best and is one of the obvious signs (in quality that is) of the massive decline of FF.
Not an OG here, a new fan from the 2020s who has played some of the games, but I was really into 16. I didn't mind the basic quests, and I really enjoyed the story and characters.
