I would be perfectly fine with that. Normally after six years with a system I would be looking forward to what is the next thing and what improvements it will bring,  but this gen I am feeling like I am still waiting for it to fully get into swing. 

It will be the final nail in the coffin of physical if Nintendo increase the gap more between physical and digital prices, and 3rd parties start following suit, which I very much hope they do (instead of keeping price parity while raising it), because I've been full digital since last gen, if some folks value physical so much that they're willing to pay the price for it, don't drag me along that spiky road.

Yeah I think Nintendo's going to try exacly this, because in the near future, they're gonna need to sell physical at more than double the digital price to make the same amount of money. I expect a minimum gap of $20 soon in an attempt to accelerate digital adoption. But who knows how the larger Nintendo community will take this?

In the case they successfully transition the vast majority of players to digital or GKC, Switch 2's limited storage will be a problem.

I'm losing enthusiasm for a new system. This might be my last console generation. Luckily I bought my PS5 and Switch 2 before the prices went up, so I have a long time before the Switch 3 comes out. Not that I can't afford the price, but it's just getting ridiculous. But it's not just the console price, games and accessories are going up, console parts like hard drives and sd cards are up, subscriptions keep going up, and worst of all they make the controllers so cheap that they get stick drift after a few years making you buy another one.

Same here! And the worst part is if you honestly look at this genn(ps5 in my case) almost 6 years and not even a handfull are TRULY ground breaking genn defining games to play.

The thing is, you can't really Gunpei Yokoi your way out of this since even outdated hardware is seeing a supply shock. Every company will have to wait for new manufacturing capacity to come online and then some.

I fathom the worries, but i feel a. I Strom will have subsided by 2028.
