Can't say I've been exactly a fan of his either in a good while now, to put it nicely... But sometimes good people do bad things too, and sometimes bad people do good things, either intentionally or otherwise. I'm not convinced space data centers are economically viable but we'll see - I haven't done the math, so I wouldn't know.

They're certainly more desirable than data centers on Earth. At least in space we don't have to hear them. The only problem is how to cool them off, because there's no atmosphere to release the heat into. What if it they had closed loop liquid nitrogen cooling systems? I'm not a scientist, but if you want something VERY cold, there's liquid nitrogen, just don't get it on your skin, hair, eyes or in your mouth.

Estimates suggest radiating 1 MW of heat requires upwards of 2,500 m² of radiator space. A typical 100 MW terrestrial AI data center would require a radiator roughly the size of a massive festival ground, making launch and deployment incredibly complex.

At this point just tear down AI data centres like this article claims workers are doing.
The legal system isn't stopping AI data centers, so we have to do that ourselves.

Space around Earth has all kinds of loose metal chips floating around anyway. And we’ll have more due to the booming satellite internet industr, not to mention private military/governmental systems. No, I can’t support putting data centers in space because it will make doing everything else much more difficult.

Well we don't really have any other options. Tech companies don't wanna tear down their precious data centres and there's nowhere to build them without ruining ecosystems, communities or both.

The AI systems were given 10 research-level maths problems, and their answers were assessed by a jury of anonymous human specialists. To prevent AI from simply scanning through its training data, all the questions were new and had never been published anywhere. They were provided by 10 researchers from a broad range of mathematical specialities who had solved them at some point in their careers. A group of 30 mathematicians checked the answers, and the results proved that AI does not come close to human mathematicians in novel problems. The findings were published in the Nature journal.
So much for AI making math history... 'Solving' a math problem is useless if you can't show how.

We do have red light cameras, which could be better used to make traffic lights more efficient and prevent accidents before they happen. For now they make them less efficient as I'm not pulling into the intersection anymore for a left turn until the road is clear. I wait behind the line if I spot anything that looks like a camera. "Pulling halfway into the intersection allows you to wait past the crosswalk. When the traffic light turns yellow, you are permitted to safely complete your turn, and this maneuver ensures traffic keeps flowing behind you." However if the opposing traffic goes through yellow, you get snapped for turning on red...
As for Data centers, luckily none here nor any plans to build them locally. If any plans arise I'll be there to protest them.
