Forums - Microsoft - Is it me or is the new Xbox boss kinda spunky

I just watched this to see her speak and what her latest comments are. And yes, I am getting a spunky vibe I guess because she is under 40 and the requests for feedback about Xbox.

I am cautiously optimistic. Executives aren't our friends, but mostly good stuff out of Asha Sharma in the First 100 Days.

Yeah while it's too early to say for sure, the moves she's been making thus far are promising, and she seems less stale and complacent than Phil.

Obviously, no CEO is your friend, but hey, if she makes moves that benefit players, that's a good thing.

I've said this before, but I've been getting pretty good vibes from her so far. She feels like a breath of fresh air, and she's said only smart things so far, as far as I can tell. My assessment doesn't have anything to do with her looks, but while we seem to be talking about it, she's undeniably fairly attractive. I mean, she's not quite my type, but at the same time I can definitely appreciate her looks anyway.

Hey I'm straight as anything but I know a good looking dude when I see one, aesthetics can transcend orientation.

Yeah, sexy is sexy, you just don't feel attracted by it but I think it almost makes no difference to judge the beauty of someone if it's a gender you are attracted to or not (there's obviously still different tastes so that everyone can be beautiful to someone, just not to as many as others)

Kinda going offtopic, but as an anecdote, I'm a straight man, and I don't really have much of an opinion about which men are good-looking and which aren't. Sometimes I do have opinions, but it's more about whether someone's particularly unattractive in some ways. I have more eye for what I think others might be into though - I feel like I have reasonable guesses as to which guys straight women might be into. I don't really expect to be in the majority in how other straight men look at other men, which is probably exactly why I thought I'd mention this option as well.

Maybe it's my Natural Born Cynic gene, or I've personally seen both men and women who appear infinitely charming and upbeat, but are cunts/dicks that will walk over corpses to climb the ladder, that makes me not putting much trust in how she appears in public.

True, her persona doesn't trigger "bats...baseball bats" response, like some of CEO's that are currently in media, but, yeah, ultimately, her making right moves for XBOX is all that matters.

You're not wrong, anybody who has risen to become the boss of a global console business has likely had to be ruthless in order to get there.

On the other hand, maybe a little ambition and boldness is what Xbox needs to get out the rut its been stuck in for so long.

I'm waiting to see (if it really comes down to only being her decision) what she'll do for 1st party exclusivity - cause I think MS has huge first party appeal, if she can put their shit together...though it might not come as short term gains, but more of a long term strategy.

Honestly, if she manages to reverse course on exclusives that'd be a big win as far as getting Xbox back on track. A bold move like that would take a lot of guts considering they'd be cutting off their newfound PS audience, so if she can push that through I'll be impressed.

Yeah, that would be ultimate gamble which would need for them to weather all the shit thrown at them for quite some time. But then again, imagining all their first party IPs (and there's quite a bit of really heavy hitters there) being XBOX exclusive again, is not so far fetched as long term strategy, whether it's tied to actual hardware or (probably) XBOX store.

I think it's just from recognition. When you are around others everyday your brain recognizes which kind of person many are attracted to or not. It starts in school where you already see that guy X or guy Y is the one most girls talk about and if you have at least a decent face recognition then your brain will safe that face X or face Y is attracting more even if you absolutely aren't attracted by any of it.

It's even the same with a gender you do like. I as example prefer dark haired woman but I still understand that this blonde Swedish girl in front of me is melting the hearts of the boys around me haha

Id personally say, as a gay man, going for the first two pages at least, that she is definitely attractive. Id also say she's ruthless in the sense she's fiercely trying to protect the XBOX brand and bring it back to where it should be. Id say she's been successful so far.

She did it.
