Copilot is awesome. Legit can make a list of compounds and have copilot can make a table with physical parameters. Makes life so much easier. I use it at least 10 times a day.

Thanks for your concern, but I'm actually in a secure job, AI's not going to be replacing autistic peer mentoring any time soon as AI can't be autistic. ;)

Are you sure? ;) Seems on r/autism many people suspect AI is autistic in the way it operates (bottom up, large data input) and responds (factful, direct). Many rather talk to AI and use AI to organize their replies. But yes, mentoring is much more than being a more human interactable search engine!

It's sad so many professionals are still so far behind when it comes to Neurodivergence, which is likely why many Autistics rather consult AI :/ DSM-5 is already 13 years old again, and needs updating. (It has 2022 text revision, yet Autism research is moving fast and needs to get away from insurance driven categorizations) Research from the last couple years, finally including women, is opening up new ideas.

AI can be incredibly useful so it's not going anywhere, like it or not. It is absolutely here to stay. It's actually kind of strange watching people get so fanatical about their hatred of it. Seriously, stop with the anthropomorphism.

The only questions are about where and how it will be integrated, which largely depends on how good it gets at tasks where it currently lags. The area it excels in at the moment is with finding errors, which is where it will initially have a positive effect on gaming. Yes, your favorite games will be using AI to help with coding.

Microsoft's mistake wasn't with AI in general, it was with shoving Copilot down everyone's throat. It was annoying. It's like McDonalds pushing a Big Mac in people's faces when they were engaged in activities that weren't eating. These people might know technology but they absolutely suck at understanding human behavior. It's the same with other areas that AI has failed in (so far)--the problem is that it was applied before it was ready, so the end result was customers being annoyed. Completely their own fault. If you're going to pay that much money, make SURE that it won't make your customers mad.

Will some companies fail at AI? Absolutely. Will it make a difference? No. Did internet commerce die because of the dot.com bubble bursting? No, and neither will AI because Microsoft scuffed Copilot. Celebrate if you want but it just means that their market share is going to someone else.

This.  I don't think people have the slightest clue on how many world problems AI will be able to solve.  

*also using a fiction movie to predict the real-world future events... I mean Jesus C., just stop.
