Expensive hardware and paying for online...  that is some BS.

I'm just saying the luxury argument is a slippery slope, i.e. if you actually adhere to it, things will start to look very bad, because so many things in life are luxuries if you think about it. Fast internet access outside work? Mostly luxury. Books? Luxury. Sports equipment? Luxury. Meat? Luxury. Your favourite food? Probably luxury. Paper and pencils? Luxury (probably somewhat depending on where you live). Our lives are just full of different kinds of luxuries, and if all of it cost unreasonably much, you wouldn't be able to afford all that much Sure, there would still be affordable things left too, but overall, that sounds like fairly bland life to me.

There's probably ways to frame gaming differently from all the other luxuries, but simply excusing high costs for something because it's a luxury is a terrible argument.

Also, here are other things that certain members of the Epstein class have recently called “luxuries:” food, water, and breathable air. 

...Is that for real? I mean, it doesn't feel like it's that long ago that I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of someone seriously calling any of those luxuries, but the world has gone so crazy that now it actually feels like something someone might say.

You have the CEO of Nestle, who claimed that there was no right to water, in response to Nestle buying up aquifers in California. 

You have members of the Trump administration, including his agriculture secretary who are overwhelmingly members of the Epstein class, making absolutely tone deaf statements about the soaring prices of necessities. A small piece of chicken, a tortilla, and a pice of broccoli and whatnot. They used to demonize Klaus Schwab of the WEF because he supposedly wanted people to eat insects as protein. 

They do not need to. The steam machine will be just as expensive, but will be the weakest piece of shit going. Not charging for online changes nothing I am afraid.
