Forums - Sales - CD Projekt Red give platform splits for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 in 2025

In both cases, PC was the dominant platform, as one would expect, but worth noting is that Switch/2 contributed more sales than Xbox consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077

  • PC - 51%
  • PlayStation - 29%
  • Switch 2 - 10%
  • Xbox - 9%

Witcher 3

  • PC - 43%
  • PlayStation - 38%
  • Switch - 11%
  • Xbox 8%

Switch/Switch 2 being above XBox is a good baseline for Nintendo as the XBox is a 3rd party driven platform.

Xbox version was 5th year old, not really a fair comparison. We needed to compare Xbox first year sales vs Switch 2 first year sales

Well cyberpunk released for Xbox in 2020 so Switch 2 version selling more than Xbox version in 2025 was expected but I'm surprised it's only a 1% difference. I thought Switch 2 version would be above Playstation as well

Xbox Series had a big install base advantage though; Switch 2 started from zero last year and ended the year with only about half as many systems in the wild as Series, plus Cyberpunk was available on Switch 2 for less than 7 months of last year, versus all year for the other versions.

The PS base had like a 10:1 size advantage over Switch 2 in 2025.

No advantage at all, userbase size is quite meaningless for such old titles, the userbase from XBOX had several years to purchase the game, in fact they already did.

Cyberpunk has more discounts on the PS/XBox store too I think and certainly at retail.

Having twice as many potential customers is absolutely significant; and the audience having had years to purchase the game also holds true for Switch 2; it's still a  port of a 5 year game and Switch 2 players have had the option to pick it up on PC/PS/Xbox for half a decade.

Playstation is a lot close to PC than I imagined.
Those big games really sell a ton on PS.
