I think this is the best I've ever seen PS5 do on the software charts. We only had to wait for its 6th year for it to finally start coming into its own.

I have this rule of thumb for Playstation systems. The number at the end of the Playstation is the number of years you should wait after launch until it's worth buying. In this case PS5 released a little over 5 years ago, so my rule of thumb seems to still be working.

Aw shit, that doesn’t bode well for PS6.

Better than usual numbers for the Switch 2 and the Switch 1 declines some but is still over 20k which is very impressive and it'll be even more impressive if it lasts one more week before dropping back below 20k. The PS5 went up somewhat but that did little to change the YoY comparison being absurdly bad. It's now almost 50% down YoY and that'll get even bigger after next week but then it'll start catching up for the rest of the year. Also for Requiem the Switch 2 result isn't ideal but it's not a bad start and the next game in the series should have a better ratio.

Interesting that Switch 2 saw a 22k boost to hardware this week, vs under 5k for PS5.
Requiem may have pushed a few folks to grab a Switch 2, and perhaps Nintendo is bolstering stock in anticipation of Pokopia. That is, unless there was a holiday or some other factor I'm missing.

What was happening to the PS5 that it sold 108K this week last year?

Also, I hope RE can sell well in Japan.

Monster Hunter Wilds released this week, last year.

For Switch1, it's OLED and Lite. Did they discontinue OG Switch already in Japan? Take it of the shelves?

Most likely!

The others had a restock recently after severe supply issues.

Expected, Og ns is unappealing anymore.

OLED is OLED

And Lite is Lite.

😅 So explicit.

Indeed.

Unless it rises.

It has to drop below that at least in April.

It's such a weak month for sales, which are bouncing back in Golden week, early May.

It's off to a good start, with a bigger first week than Village.

If it has good legs, it should pass a million including digital.

Sales in general should continually drop as the year goes on though it is being more resilient than expected so far this year. Either way it'll be basically fully dead by 2027 though.

It's interesting to note that where RE naturally sold most on PS, Tales of Berseria sold most on Switch, as the JRPG audience has been built up on Nintendo's platform for a number of years now, whereas RE has only just returned there.
