Forums - Nintendo - Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch 2 Edition out now on Eshop, physical on April 16th

Awesome! I have the game purchased, but have been waiting for this. Beat it on Wii U ten years ago, and then again on PC using emulation. This game has great replay-ability though, and I haven't experienced the bonus chapter yet.

Hope this means two things: 1. We get the same updates for the other Xenoblade games. 2 and 3 especially need a resolution boost. 2. We get a sequel to this game. I prefer the sci-fi style of Gears, Saga, X compared to the fantasy-scifi blend of the main Blade series, so would be pretty hyped for an X sequel.

I've been waiting for Switch 2 enhancements for all of the Xenoblade games. They could all use a major resolution bump to really shine, and 60 FPS would be nice as well.

I knew I was waiting to get it for a reason. I'll be getting the physical copy.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

As much as I love they have done this, Xeno 1 and 2 need the upgrade far more, especially in terms of resolution.

Also, I swear Nintendo uses a fortune wheel to determine if a S2 upgrade will be free or paid, and how much it will cost.

They probably don't know what is the price to maximize profits. They are experimenting and seeing what works the best financially

Yeah it's strange. Since the game seems to be just a resolution and fps boost. Which they have mostly been giving away for free in the past.

Cool to see; to echo others Xenoblade 2 and 3 need it more, but I expect those will get more extensive remaster/remake a la Xenoblade 1 on Switch.

Hopefully Monolith's next new game's not too far off, I'm keen to see what they can do on Switch 2 as it always felt like their ambitions were kinda stifled a bit by Switch 1.

Game looks a lot better at the higher resolution and plays great with the better frame-rates. Image-quality wise it reminds me of TOTK/BOTW SW2 though, which have really bad temporal stability in my opinion. Handheld mode is especially broken up in motion. Still can't complain. Looks and plays better than on Rog Ally Z1e/Steam Deck.
