I went through a 360 stage a year ago. Played Amped 3, PGR3, Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, Just Cause.

It's a wonderful system but damn the performance people put up with that generation is crazy lol. Gears of War ran like crap.

Gears are mostly slower games, are they not? Cover shooters.

I must say I'm surprised even the menus looks quite choppy, at least on my 4K TV, even as I don't remember that being the case with the PS3.

Games will obviously be dated but that's fine.

I forgot that annoying battery block behind the controller tho, it's doesn't sit well with my usual fingers position when holding a controller, but the L2/R2 triggers are as pleasing as I remember them.

Depends how into the Xbox ecosystem you end up. Yes, Series X is the most powerful Xbox to date and has 2 generations of games plus the same backwards compatibility of Xbox One.

But Series X is crazy overpriced now in most regions and harder to find. And having a PS5 makes one very redundant for a lot of games.

See how you enjoy the Xbox 360 and see after if a One S or One X is worth it (maybe a "VCR" One if you get it dirt cheap in good condition). Series seems like a tough sell at this point even for Series S.

And the achievements might have trouble syncing to your account if you can't connect online. Every one of my achievements on Xbox 360 (both natively on the console and 360 games on Xbox One) have synced to my Xbox account. However, 2-step verification and errors from the old 360 infrastructure make connecting to online a pain for myself and many players. The last time I booted up my 360 in late 2025, it refused to connect to Xbox Live. And that's at least the second time, if not the third.

As for some games you can't play on later Xbox consoles

-SoulCalibur IV and V

-Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4

About half of the original Xbox games are playable on Xbox 360. But by comparison only about 6% of original Xbox games are playable on Xbox One.

Yeah, even used shaddy Series X here are usually more expensive than a brand new PS5 during promotions.

The Series X is not officially sold or produced here since 2023.

The thing is, by owning a 360 the One becomes redundant if I ever get a Series tho, as I can run OG and 360 on the 360, and One and Series on Series.

A Series would indeed make an One redundant in almost every way except one: Kinect 2.0. I want to get Kinect for my 360 and Kinect 2.0 for my One eventually but I'm in no hurry.

Kinect was a fad, so very few people cared that Kinect 2.0 isn't compatible on Series.

Xbox 360 will still connect online.
But the online marketplace got nuked and no longer functions... Making a new account can be difficult due to 2-factor authentication issues though.

Some notable games to get:

* Infinite Undiscovery.

I forgot this game existed.

I got it when it first released but never finished it, I got stuck but can't recall where and have since lost my copy.

I just bought a copy from ebay as it's backwards compatible with the series X.

Thanks for the recommendation. It's on the Microsoft Store, but it looks like physical is cheap so if I ever want to give the game a go that is an option.

If PC isn't your preference, then The Witcher 2, Prey 2006, and Call of Duty 2 are all high quality 360 console exclusives that never came to Playstation/Nintendo.

Even as I'm not personally inclided to The Witcher series, have 3 but never touched it yet, The Witcher 2 is the kind of game it would be cool to have on it, yes.

I wish we ever had Diablo 2 available on any console from that time, I have it on PC, and it's cool we have a really good version of it available nowdays as well, that very sadly doesn't have a physical release, but would be even cooler to have it on a console from back then.

The RPGs i have in Xbox 360 (most of them are exclusive). You can choose from that list.

Lost Odyssey is definitely my priority, to me it was always the most interesting game on the 360, but I do have many of those on my PS3 as well.

Thank you for the pic, Fable is also in consideration.

Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Fable II is must buy.
The only others left truely exclusive from the list these days is Magna Carta 2 and Infinite Undiscovery but i haven't played them so I don't know how good they are.
