Overall not a great direct, even though what was shown wasn't bad. Getting announcements for part 2 of the FF7 Remake trilogy and Oblivion Remastered were nice if somewhat expected. I really hope they carry over Skyrim's gyro controls.  Also great to have a release date for Indiana Jones. Was already interested in Pragmata and RE9, but was hoping for the remakes of RE2 and 4. No real earth-shattering announcements like Halo or Horizon that have been rumored. Also nothing from From Software. No Duskbloods or Elden Ring.  The new Turok game also looks pretty neat.

Hopefully the rumors of a "direct sandwich" where a direct on first-party games pan out. The line-up of upcoming games is full of good and even great games, but it's lacking in "system-sellers" and "wow" titles. We need to see something more exciting like the next 3d Mario relatively soon.

Completely forgot that was already announced. Sure taking their time.

Digimon Time Stranger being on the Switch 1 is a neat thing, I was expecting it to skip the console. It will probably be the last new game I'll buy for the original Switch, then I'll focus on getting all the old Switch titles I haven't gotten around to play yet.

I'm really wondering how that runs, hopefully they did a good job. As it said in the presentation it's only 30fps on SW2. It also has trouble running on Steam Deck unless you drop to lowest settings...

If Cyber Sleuth could run, I imagine they'd just downgrade Time Stranger until it's at that same level.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

The developers behind Orbitals have surely taken inspiration from Hazelight cause that looks like a potentially brilliant co-op game. The presentation looks excellent, the cutscenes being done by an anime studio is such a good decision. Overall the showcase was fine I'd say, it reaffirmed that 3rd party support for the Switch 2 this year is gonna be much stronger than the Switch 1 got in 2018 so it did enough. If this followed up by a general Direct in a couple weeks or so then Nintendo should have a strong February.

Orbitals looks amazing. I'd love to play it.

Rest of the show was pretty average, borderline boring based on the presentation style. A lot of games looked like they were struggling to run. Hopefully that is sorted out by the time they launch on Switch 2.

I believe there will be a main direct last month focused on first party games. They have few announced games like Fire Emblem, Splatoon Raiders and Yoshi lacking release dates.

Honestly very surprised we didn't see anything regarding Duskbloods or even Elden Ring

Well I think they're very different games on different engines. Cyber Sleuth was originally a Vita game, it's minimum requirement on PC is a GPU from 2008 lol. Time Stranger is a lot more demanding and struggles on Steam Deck but it seems they think they can get the job done.

Pretty sure this was just focusing on games between now through June, so asking for games like Dusk Bloods, Elden Ring, etc doesn't make any sense as far as we know they are not scheduled to come out in the next few months so we shouldn't expect them to be shown.

So even with 2 systems playing locally, the screen remains splited? Is that the same with It takes 2 and Split Fiction?
