Forums - General - January 31st 2003 @ 12:49pm EST .. what were you doing?

Any games you were particularly excited for or playing at this point in your life? Tell me! I’m very curious. (I’ll explain the oddly specific date/time later.)

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that was your birthday. In which case, Happy Birthday.

To answer the prompt, I was not yet born.

Buy a house while it is still cheap. That was my biggest mistake at eight years old.

As for what I have been doing, I was not playing anything. I didn't start gaming until I got my GameCube in October of 2023.

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

Do Not Click here or else I will call on the eye of shining justice on you.

I was probably at home playing The Flintstones: The Treasure of Sierra Madrock, the game I got for Christmas 2002.

Given that that was a Friday, and I lived in the EST time-zone, I was probably eating lunch at school or just getting back to class from lunch at school. I was in third grade and nine years old.

Game-wise, I remember looking up details about Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire on Serebii.net when it released in Japan on my dial-up internet connection (which our household had a second phone-line for + free AOL subscription.) I had just gotten a Dell Dimension 2300 as a combo Christmas/birthday present a few months prior and the internet was mostly brand new to me (outside of using it very rarely at school.) I didn't get to play Pokemon Sapphire until my birthday in October of 2003 even though it released earlier, but was very hyped for it. I also remember playing flash games on various cartoon websites at the time.

I was probably visiting people. Maybe somewhere on the way to or from buying beverages. It was when I was in University, and that was what I did on Saturdays.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

13yr old me was probably just finishing school for the weekend. Game wise probably Pokemon or reading a gaming magazine.

Got a high noon meeting with the devil and the herald, and the Lockheed birds.

Just turned 14 years old, just started year 8 at school, had just gotten an OG Xbox and was playing the likes of Blinx, Oddworld Munch's Odyssey, Jedi Star Fighter, as well as still playing the likes of Banjo Tooie and Conker on N64.

Your mom.

“Consoles are great… if you like paying extra for features PCs had in 2005.”

I was just starting the second semester of my first year in college. I was probably wrapping up classes for the day, and getting ready to play some Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Monkey Ball 2 with my dorm mates.
