In less than a month and a half, Pokémon Pokopia will release exclusively on Switch 2; how much do you predict it will sell lifetime, and why?

I entered on this thread expecting a 1~2 million range option

Unless it overperforms like crazy in Japan this is a less than 5 million sold for sure

Voted under 5m. Most Pokémon spin-offs don't sell more than 5m, and I'd imagine this game will be overshadowed by the likely reveal and release of Gen 10 for the 30th anniversary. Should be a million seller, possibly 2m though.

Nintendo reports the game has shipped 3.68m outside Japan, so over 5 million worldwide.

The 1.27 is not how much it sold in Japan. That is how much it sold this quarter outside of Japan. We know during its launch week it sold 1 million in Japan alone. According to Famitsu it sold roughly 500k physical. Leaving about 500k digital in its opening week. The game has sold another 500k physically since then. That is roughly 1.5 million sales accounted for in Japan. With unknown digital sales likely adding another couple hundred thousand. Sales in Japan are likely near 2 million.

With 3.68m outside Japan, total sales should be well over 5m.

My guess is that shipments and digital sales for Pokopia in Japan would be >2M now. So total shipments and digital sales for Pokopia is probably close to 6M.
