Do you care about fps? S2 will tap out at 30 fps, the ps5 will have a 60 fps mode. Side note, lots of S2 love in this thread. I am curious to see the sales ratio between S2 and ps5, so how well this forum tracks to the real world. |
As long as it's stable fps, I don't care too much about it.

Then either will be fine. Minimum requirements include a 1650 which a S2 beats out. The recommended is a 2060s which the ps5 beats out. The S2 should maintain 30 fps easily enough and the ps5 can maintain 60 fps easily enough. Both should be expected to be stable, just at different levels.

It would be interesting to see, but usually we only get Famitsu numbers on the different SKUs IIRC.
This forum leans more towards enthusiasts who are more likely to be early adopters of Switch 2, while in the bigger picture PS5 has an install base about 6 times bigger, plus RE has more of an established base there as the last few mainline entries didn't release on Nintendo.
All that being said, I do think Requiem will do well on Switch 2, as owners will be hungry for new content.
Switch 2 for me as it's the only console I own but I value portability so that explains why the switch 2 is the only console I own. Also, the game looks perfectly serviceable on switch 2 so really I'm not losing out either, I just have the added bonus of shi**ing myself on the couch 🤣
EDIT: Also, a poll would have been great for this thread.

I liked the earlier RE games and the survival aspect and the puzzle solving, but modern REs are too scary for me.

There was one with a poll back when it was announced as coming to Switch 2 last September:
It will likely sell best on Steam and the Xbox version will very likely outsell the Switch 2 version. That should give an idea of how skewed the user base of this website is.

I think the S2 is well positioned. I mean, most gamers (not me, I am a snob) have hit the point where they don't care about graphics anymore. Which while I don't personally agree, I get it. I mean going from FF7 to FFX.. yeah, those days are long gone. And for anybody who isn't super fps driven, the S2 puts out fine graphics. The ps5 version is a bit sharper and obviously has better lighting, but the real benefit of the ps5 is 60 fps, which again, many probably don't care. Me being a snob, I think 60 fps is meh.
