At the current pace PS4 needs about 260 weeks or 5 years to reach this "milestone" :D

Japan is outselling the PS5 by a factor of almost 7:1.


Also... like ~200 units of xbox series consoles sold, in these weeks.
Probably to like stationed soldiers or something.

They don't even have a column for it in the hardware picture.
If your in japan and own a Xbox, you are a unicorn.

Playstation got shut out of the software chart for one week, due to holidays boosting the sales of Nintendo software. Ghost of Yotei is doing well enough during the most recent week to hang out near the bottom of the software chart. Clearly, Nintendo is totally dominating Japan in software sales, but some credit has to be given to Ghost of Yotei for preventing a total shut out for several weeks in a row.

Ring Fit and Switch Sports continue to power along all these years later, showing the blue ocean audience is still out there.

Why is Famitsu still tracking PS4 when it was discontinued in 2024? lol.

So, is anyone expecting anything interesting in Japan before DQ7 Reimagined comes out in February?

Pretty much the only things to keep track of are...

-Switch 2 stock and well it still sells

-Switch 1 2026 vs 2025

-PS5 2026 vs 2025

-Dynasty Warriors Origins Switch 2 port

-Animal Crossing Switch 2 version

-Final Fantasy 7 Remake Switch 2 port

-Code Vein 2 sales

So yeah, not interesting at all.

Huh… I just noticed that XBSXS sold less during CY’2025 than CY’2020. Wow. Never realized how far Xbox had fallen in JP this past year.
