Forums - Gaming - List of Games You've Beaten 2026

First post of the year. Was playing mp games, Tekken finishing off battle pass then wanted something different to pull myself off BG3. Thanks to Josh Strife Hayes video, thought I'd give Alan Wake a go.

He loved it, I thought it was decent. I enjoyed the story but got lost in it sometimes, i think I needed to find more pages than I did to get some bits as logic in why Alan was going some places jumped suddenly, or I wasn't paying attention, my bad there but it was let down by some of the combat. Sheer frustration of being blindsided by enemies, awkwardness of dodging but then understand the combat isn't it's main focus. Overall fun time however, did it in like 8 hours.

Hmm, pie.

Kickin' Those Games Old School.       -       201 Beaten Games And Counting

Just Finished: Bayonetta 3 (Switch)

First completion of the new year though I started playing it a while ago. I have now played all three Bayonetta games and all on the Switch to boot. This is my least favorite of the three. I still think the original Bayonetta is the best and that Bayonetta 2 was overrated. The quality of the graphics have changed very little between all three games and they all had some issues running steady. The original voice of Bayonetta was way better than the replacement. The combat is mostly satisfying but the demon summoning is clunky to control and slows down the combat unless you equip the accessory that allows the demons to attack without your direct control. Despite playing all of the games in the series, I could barely follow what was going on with the story. It had something to do with the multiverse and interacting with multiple versions of Bayonetta, including the two from the previous two games. All the wacky hijinks and overtly sexual dancing is still here. I think the first game still feels the most epic and original so every time this game tries to top it with an over the top cutscene it just feels exhausting. Playing as Viola is not as satisfying as playing as Bayonetta, nor is her character as interesting. The 2D sidescrolling spy missions with Jeanne added some variety but weren't my favorite honestly. The story finds excuses to have levels take place in Tokyo, Paris, New York etc, which can feel novel but also forced. The ending also doesn't feel deserved. Not sure whether I want any more Bayonetta games. The game took me about 10 hours, slightly longer than Bayo 2. I'm probably fine with them concluding but if there was a proper Bayonetta 4 I'd probably play it.

Score: 7/10

Just Finished: Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5)

My first Remedy game. This was given out as a PS Plus monthly title several years ago. I started and stopped playing it several times. Finally the game started to click after my latest attempt. The graphics are phenomenal, among the best I have seen, which is impressive because this started as a PS4/Xbox One game. The story is bonkers and I did not try too hard to follow it. The game is creepy, sometimes it felt like a horror game. The combat and gameplay are a unique mix of third person shooter and a superhero game. The map could be convoluted to navigate. There are too many damn collectibles. The weapon and personal mod systems were not straightforward so I did not take advantage of them. Some puzzles were obtuse and some enemy varieties downright annoying to contend with. However the amount of imagination on display is really enjoyable. Unlocking new powers and abilities is enjoyable. There is a ton of optional content and side quests that I did not bother with. Some checkpoint placement is iffy. I may consider going back to complete the two included DLC packs. I'm going to play Alan Wake sometime down the line and will definitely check out Control Resonant in the future as well.

Score: 8/10
