Are PS5's being discounted until the end of the year?

We could be looking at a 10M+ quarter if that's the case. Sony's going to exceed their current FY projection (15M) unless the PS5 really underperforms for the holidays. 

The reality of what is happening with Nintendo and Europe is very similar to what Sony previously went through in Japan, a slow decline in interest which led Sony to prioritize other markets, this is the exact same situation for Nintendo in Europe. The main reason why Nintendo is now focusing on Asian expansion is that they know that Europe is a declining market for them and they need a bigger foothold in the growing Asian markets to somewhat replace the European market. Early shipment numbers from ''other regions'' sales of Switch 2 show that those sales are already very competitive with European sales for the Switch 2, so it seems Nintendo will be fairly succesful in pivoting to other markets.

We see this clearly from Nintendo's last earnings report; They reported 2,4M Switch 2 sales in Europe vs 1,93M Switch 2 sales in other regions (outside Japan, Europe and North America), it has never happened previously that other regions are so close to European sales. Which shows that the pivot really is happening for Nintendo. The reality is that Nintendo these days sell more Switch 2 consoles in Korea than they do in a lot of European countries, and China is probably a bigger market for them than UK already as well.

With the PS5 potentially getting another price increase down the line due to what's going on with RAM it's good they're focusing on selling as many as they can right now. If they have enough stockpiled to last until the end of next year then that would be ideal since a price increase in 2027 wouldn't matter much.

You are going really overboard with this. You realize the Switch 2 is currently outpacing the Switch 1 in Europe and that three of the top 5 best selling consoles ever in Europe are Nintendo ones right? I don't expect it to keep outpacing the Switch 1 long term but it's really likely it'll outsell the Wii and PS1 there while you're acting like it's doing Xbox numbers. Saying it's a declining market for them when the Switch 1 is gonna become their 2nd best selling console ever there and the Switch 2 is currently outpacing it is absurd. They're literally doing the best they've done in Europe since the Wii and DS days.

No wonder a console can sell really well if it's not priced as to abuse consumers, huh?
