Thanks; all the best with the new year; remember to try to lose it gradually so you don't burn out and crash out. That's happened to me before, I push myself too hard then end up not being able to maintain it. Slow and steady wins the race.

I mainly just count calories and try to stick to around 1700 a day which is good for 2-3KG a month lost when I'm consistent with it. The consistency is the hard part though and when I start messing up with it it can take a while to get back on track though I have been consistent with it for entire year stretches earlier this decade so I just need to do that again.

Yeah finding a lifestyle you can stick to long term is the trick. I think I have found mine; been at my healthy weight for 11 years now, back in 2014 I was 97kg/214lbs which is seriously overweight for my height, and given my history a heart attack waiting to happen. That motivated me to lose it as I was very anxious about being the next in my family to kick the bucket at 50.

I was at 116 at my peak back in 2021 so the past few years is the first time my physical health has been consistently at least fine since before my teen years I think. I lost a ton of weight in 2017 but then started ballooning back up again in the 2nd half of 2018 so more than anything I'm gonna make sure to avoid doing that ever again.
