Forums - Nintendo - Update: Just finished my N64 Collection!

Come to think of Fighters Destiny - a good fighting game, not total top tier but very innovative point system.

Nice collection! You chose very wisely :)

I'm envious of Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth and Sin and Punishment. I don't own the former, and only have the Virtual Console version of the latter.

Here are a few I would recommend if you're interested in expanding:

  • 1080° Snowboarding
  • Beetle Adventure Racing
  • Excitebike 64
  • Extreme-G
  • GoldenEye 007
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Rayman 2: The Great Escape
  • Wave Race 64

Doom 64 uses alpha maps and is a sequel to Doom 2 right?

Got any other recommendations?

Yeah it is its own original game, and quite a good one, just pretty old school compared to say Goldeneye or Perfect Dark.

Can't perfectly see the labels on some so not sure if you have them, but Wave Race 64, Conker's Bad Fury Day, and Wipeout 64 are pretty good.

I don't mean to intrude, but I just want to caution that Doom 64 plays quite awkwardly on N64. I've tried so many controller configurations and never found one that really works.

I would strongly recommend playing the game via the modern port by Nightdive. The revised control scheme lets the greatness of the game shine through.

Lovely collection. Though Stadium 2 but no Stadium 1 makes me feel weird xD

Mischief Makers, Goemon, Ogre Battles and Sin & Punishment, you have fine taste.

Bomberman 64 would be my rec but this is a pretty nice collection that goes beyond the usual suspects.

Very similar to mine (but you must add Perfect Dark, imo). I don't see much point in collecting games that I won't love playing. Especially for the prices. I'm a player that collects, not a collector that sometimes plays.

Very nice, I bought some N64 games this year as well.

1400 usd for Nintendo 64 games collection. I have all nintendo 64 games on emulator and haven't played even one. :P

Beetle Adventure Racing is another one that's pretty good; it only has 6 tracks, but each one is like a world unto itself with a ton of secret areas and shortcuts that emphasize exploration as much as racing.

Resident Evil 2 is also noteworthy; its also available on PS1 where it was much better known, but it's also on N64, and notable for the extraordinary feat of getting 2 CDs worth of material to somehow fit on a cartridge.

I always thought Beetle Adventure Racing was highly rated for it's technical prowess at the time. But you're saying it's got great tracks too? How long is a single lap, compared to other racers?

I remember laps being fairly long, like around 3 minutes or so, they're pretty big.

Yeah maybe no Doom 64 then. If it controls like Goldeneye or Perfect Dark then I'll enjoy that. What exactly is wrong with the controls?

Stadium 2 has all 251 Pokemon. No need for Stadium 1.

Bomberman 64 is definitely one I could add. Along with Harvest Moon 64. But they both feel kind of redundant because I have those series on other systems too. I feel like if you have one Bomberman/Harvest Moon you have them all.

It is there. Look!

Definitely sold on Beetle Adventure Racing then!
