Uh…what is Retro these days? Is that information that has been clarified in that forum? I almost feel like there needs to be a Bit Retro and a Poly Retro if that makes any sense. Posting about Elebits on the Wii definitely seems retro by today’s standards, for instance and would fit in the Poly Retro, but I could absolutely see it not being considered retro in a normal retro forum.

Wii and 6th Gen are definitely considered retro amongst the retro gaming community. 7th Gen is very much considered retro as well because those systems have CRT hookups. HDMI-Only seems to be the hard cutoff for what is considered retro.

Any chance we could add a section on the front page for pinned forums? E.g. Club Nintendo, Xbox |OT|, the main Sony thread, and maybe a few others?

Could also add a “Thread of the Day/Week” section (and if you want to incentivize theead creation, you could award those Gamer Point things to users who create a thread that is promoted to Thread of the Day/Week.

You need to tick the checkboxes in your "Hot Topics" filter to show them, which unfortunately means most people seem to not really notice them or post in them.

Maybe they should be "on" by default to avoid this.

When you click on hot topics, there should be a tab above the thread list that says "show filters."

Click on that and it will show a bunch of checkboxes for the various forums; the ones you tick will show up in Hot Topics.

Thank you, Curl!

Getting rid of the downvote option on article posts has to be one of the greatest changes to this site. It feels so much less like a warzone now lol.

I agree. Bad comments don't tend to get a lot of upvotes and those few that do aren't really much of a problem. I've missed the option to downvote some of the actually bad posts myself, but much less than I've enjoyed not having to worry who's going to downvote my comment not because it's bad but because the other party simply disagrees with it.
