Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo take note!

I'm all digital, and really am not in the market for any physical, but the physical market is obvious... Full games, on game card, without need of patching or downloads of any sort to play... these should be available, and it's silly that companies are not making this available. That's essentially what the other people in my Nintendo fandom family want.

Is there anyone who actually wants game cards? I don't, and I don't think the physical market do either. Game cards shouldn't be the future, they should be a relic of the past... before we had dedicated digital download platforms.

Game key cards are the worst of all worlds. Like they don't let you have the actual game and you need servers to get the game. Resale becomes a huge issue because of that. And its not convenient like digital. The virtual game card thing is very annoying as well.

I think at the end of the day Nintendo is testing what the market will bear and if sales slump slowly prices will come down. Europe has the highest prices for hardware and software and the first market to slow down with regard Switch 2 but then Europe was never as big a market for Nintendo as other markets with regard the percentage of people that buy Nintendo products but still a very important market probably similar in revenue to the USA but split over many minor countries with much higher logistics costs. It feels like pricing in Europe has been too high as here in the UK we have seen a huge amount of discounts on Switch 2 products and major French retailers seem to have lowered the price of Switch 2 consoles due to a high overstock situation. It is still going to do significant numbers in Europe this Christmas I'm sure but probably disappointing compared to US and Japanese numbers. We shall see though, a small tweak to European pricing could do wonders. Maybe a £399 Mariokart bundle. Still very expensive compared to Japan but maybe more people will bite at that price. I've set myself a price of £250 for a secondhand Switch 2. It will probably be a while before I can achieve that. Obviously I will pay more if bundled with software etc. I'm not expecting to get a Switch 2 soon but then there is only 1 Switch 2 exclusive title I really want to play which is Mario Kart World. The current conversion rate price of a brand new Japanese Switch 2 to UK currency is just under £250 so I'm prepared to pay the same for a secondhand Switch 2. The cheapest I've seen a Switch 2 in the UK was an ebay price using a code that worked out at £290 but that was basically new (shop returned) and guaranteed.

I'll pay $80 for Kirby Air Riders. Looks like there's 10X the content of Mario Kart World. You are right on the money though.

To be fair, I see a lot of people complaining about the price of Sonic Racing. A lot of my friends haven't purchased it yet because they're waiting for a price drop.

I noticed I was mixing up Game Cards with Game KEY Cards.

"Key" being the key term 😄

I edited my original post to use the term "download codes" instead.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
