Hmm I have no idea about Ghost, other than the fact that obviously it's launch should be far bigger than Mario because it's a new game not a couple of old ports, but the Galaxies will be interesting to watch numbers for.

Galaxy already being sold on Switch to the tune of 9 million copies with 3D All-Stars I think definitely hurts the sales of the Galaxies sold as a double pack. Though the fact that the Galaxies can of course be played on both Switch systems, and there isn't much to play on S2 yet, should help out the Galaxies some. I'd expect pretty decent sales of Galaxy 2 by itself since we've been waiting years as it was the odd one left out of 3D All-Stars.

l dunno, maybe the Galaxy bundle ends around 3D All-Stars sales lifetime a bit under 10 million, with a couple million for Galaxy by itself, and over 5 million for Galaxy 2 by itself. I don't expect these to have a big launch though launch week should be decent as people have been waiting for the missing Galaxy 2 for years, and should alright during the holidays but not like a major new game or anything, and should get a small boost when the Galaxy movie comes out, and probably as timeless classic Mario games they will continue selling with small legs for years to come, eventually getting up to those numbers I just listed.

Death Stranding sold over 20mil, no? Or am I misunderstanding? (Also, I take back my comment on 10mil being bold. I thought he was saying 10mil during the holiday quarter alone.)

No, not even close to this. The 20 million figure accounts for GamePass users (and I don't know if it's also been added to PS+ before). Actual sales are probably at around 7-8 million.

Gamepass users why?  It never was on gamepass..

I just checked. It was available on PC GamePass for apparently a few months, and is currently still available to PS+ Extra and Premium users.

It was on PC Gamepass for a year, but pc only because it wasn't released on Xbox consoles back then.

But yeah the player numbers it got from that compared to being on PS+ Extra/Premium for the last 3 years will be small.

It also was given away free by the epic game store.

20m players, 7-8m sales is probably about right.

Oh, so Galaxy is already on Switch. My, my I was questioning this comparison as to why would anyone put these up against each other besides release date but what an interesting little battle this makes. On top of all these deets Ghost is getting pretty recked by the anti woke crowd for silly little things and they see it as something to be boycotted no matter how good it is and that's pushing away an ever growing number of players and Gen Alpha might not want it in their Xmas stocking but then again, gamers are addicts and if a game gets enough buzz they don't hold to their morals.

It's a tough one to call. SM 3D Allstars shipped 9m in just 6 months before it was discontinued, but it may have sold faster because it was a limited release and people needed to get it quick if they wanted to get it at all.

That SMG has already been available on the Switch through 3D Allstars may also hurt the sales of SMG1+2. Plus how will the individual sales be counted? If someone buys SMG 1 only, or SMG 2 only, or both individually...

Both games will probably go over 10m lifetime, but other than that I don't really have an idea of how SMG 1+2 will sell, either out the gates or lifetime. I don't really know how to predict it either way, my gut says SMG1+2.

I literally told you a couple of pages ago that Tsushima sold over 13 million as of September 2024. These aren't player numbers!

Otherwise yeah, the way Sony reveals their sales figures is random these days. GT7 is looking to pass 15 million. And yet it doesn't look like Sony intends to announce anything outside cumulative franchise sales. Insomniac's leaked data revealed surprisingly high sales figures from Bloodborne and Ratchet and Clank, and yet Sony acts like Bloodborne doesn't exist. Weird mf's.

oomph my had lol. This player v sales data confuses me at times. (I also should’ve said IIRC instead AFAIA.)

honestly not sure because the anti-woke crowd have yotei in their sights and im not sure how that will affect sales
