Forums - Nintendo - Activist Group Calls For Major Switch 2 Boycott

Its kinda old news, but I just found today this subject and I gotta say that I am perplexed.

It look likes that that a group named "Gaming Consumer Rights" is attempting to physically present themselves on gaming events like New York Comic Con and The Game Awards to protest against Nintendo Switch 2 prices (Hardware and Software).

What are your thoughts?

"the GCR's new website points an accusatory finger at Nintendo for using misleading marketing and artificially creating the illusion of scarcity."

Are they? Seems like they have done a fantastic job making sure everyone gets a console and doesn't have to pay 2k for it early like launch PS5s. I get the $80 price complaint, but $450 for a hybrid console, get out of here that is a fantastic price.

These guys are completely out of their minds. They turning a blind eye for the other consoles manufactors(actual home of what they call "AAA Greed") raising the prices on the system and live services, that really paints the full picture.
I am trying to process all their inconsistent remarks and thinking how pathetic this will be if they actually appear on these events

Talk about 1st world problems...

Where were they when sony and MS raised prices on games 5 years ago?

The world belongs to you-Pan America

Lmao, good luck with that.

Any bet this "activist group" is a few (or even one) salty haters with Nintendo Derangement Syndrome living in their parent's basement who used AI to throw together a website.

Why are they saying Nintendo is creating "the illusion of scarcity to trick people into buying the Switch 2"? Im pretty sure its been available most places since pretty early after the launch...

Yeah many of their claims are straight up lies.

This is grifter nonsense on par with trash tier ragebait youtubers, and frankly Screen Rant should be ashamed of platforming such crap, shows how low the standard is for games "journalism" nowadays.

Before reading the first post, I thought this might be about the Game Key Card situation. That seems like a more reasonable cause to protest for.

Yeah, I also thought it might be about uproar about RE being on GKC and GKCs in general.

I mean, there are legitimate cases to be made against say the Switch 1 getting a price hike a couple months back, or the steep pricing on some of their Switch 2 Editions of Switch 1 games, DLC, and remasters.

But rubbish like "Switch 2 is overpriced/obsolete" or "there are using artificial scarcity" just makes the whole thing seem like the work of some crazed hater and just undermines any fair criticism that may have been found.
